Currently, CBN isn’t listed as a controlled substance in the United Nations' Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs or the Convention on Psychotropic Substances, however, it is illegal in the US on a federal level as long as it is derived from hemp and the product containing it has less than .3% THC per the 2018 Farm Bill.
